With fall right around the corner, I like to think about all the amazing flavors it will be bringing with it. I think of fresh apples, brown sugar, pumpkin pie, and savory herbs. The best way to get the most of these wonderful flavors is to incorporate them into your day-to-day life by making some fall flavored kombucha. Not only will this be a refreshing flavorful trip down memory lane, but it will be packed full of probiotics keeping you feeling great! We will go over three recipes this week that will have you thinking of crisp air and rosy cheeks.
The first recipe is a fall classic: spiced apple cider kombucha. The recipe will be per (1) 16 Oz Ez Cap bottle. Once you have made a gallon of kombucha, you will add these ingredients to act as the flavoring and sugar in the second fermentation of your Kombucha.
Spiced Apple Cider Kombucha
- ¼ cup apple cider
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 tsp. dried orange peel
- 2 whole cloves
- 2 whole allspice
- 2 whole cardamom pods
This next one is one of my personal favorites! I will make this recipe year round – I enjoy it that much. The spice kick really comes from the extra ginger this one calls for! This will warm you up on a cool fall day and have you feeling refreshed and healthy!
Ginger Spice Kombucha
- ½ tsp grated ginger
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 whole cloves
The last fall recipe is simple and flavorful. It makes a great gift to bring along to family gathering or an evening bonfire. I find this one to be a little less traditional as well, which can be nice to mix it up a little after all that apple pie you will have enjoyed.
Pear & Cardamom Kombucha
- ¼ cup pear nectar/concentrate
- 2 Cardamom pods or 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
