Homebrewing Basics • $25 • Register

Rockfish Brewery owner and Fifth Season brew guru Peter McMindes will be leading this home brewing class for beginning and newer brewers. This class will cover the basic processes, ingredients, and equipment needed to brew and package great beer at home. Peter will demonstrate many aspects of the brewing process during this class so that you can see exactly how they are done, ultimately making your own brewing experience more successful. This class is a great opportunity for newer brewers to learn more about the craft, or for anyone interested in learning how to home brew.

Garden Planning 101: A Year in the Garden • $15 • Register

Join Master Gardener Pam for this informative, imaginative, and fun workshop that will cover how to prepare and plan out your garden for the year. Taking a month-by-month approach, Pam will discuss what you need to know to make your garden a success, and how to achieve your gardening dreams.

Children’s Botanical Art Class • $20 • Register
Saturday, February 1st • 11am-12:30pm
The class will be geared towards ages 7 and up. Attendees will choose from a variety of winter specimens; leaves, grasses, seed pods; or tropical plants to make their own botanical artwork using pencils and watercolor paint. We will cover some botany basics, the history of botanical painting and drawing, and what to look for when documenting a botanical specimen. We will make our own botanical journal and discuss keeping a year round record of trees, flowers and plants from the garden and woodlands.
Potting Party: Seed Starting Workshop • $20 • Register
Saturday, February 15th • 11am-12:30pm
Get your hands dirty with our spring seed starting workshop. This is a soil-focused gardening class with special attention paid to seed germination and seedling care, followed by a hands-on seeding and potting of your favorite garden veggies. We will provide seeds, soil, and trays. Each attendee leaves with a flat of organic veggie starts!
Class fee includes instruction time and one flat of organic veggie starts that you choose and pot up yourself.
Potting Party for Kids! • $15 • Register
Saturday, February 22nd • 11am-12pm
Get them started young with this fun, hands-on, basic gardening class for children. We will learn what makes plants grow and what keeps a garden healthy. Then kids will have the opportunity to start their own seedlings, which they can bring home, care for, and watch grow from seed to table.
Class fee includes instruction time, organic seed starts to take home, and one child’s gardening tool.
