Fall is often referred to as the “second spring”. With cooler temperatures, less watering, fewer pests, and an array of tasty crops to choose from, fall gardening is among our favorite seasons for planting. In this information-packed workshop you’ll learn best practices for successful germination, timing, and the proper way to care for your seedlings until they’re planted in the garden. There will be a discussion about bulbs, wildflowers, and vernalization, followed by you getting your hands in the soil!
Class fee includes all materials, including 10×20 flat tray and insert, humidity dome, seeds, soil, labels, Clyde’s Garden Planner, and lecture notes. You’ll take home your own flat of seedlings! Limited enrollment with pre-registration required.
Putting up the Summer Harvest: Canning & Storing • $35

Have you been wanting to learn the basics of home canning, but find yourself confused as to where to begin? Join Pam as she teaches a hands-on workshop on Canning, Brining, Smoking, Drying and other ways to preserve and store your produce for the winter. Plant Propagation & Indoor Growing • $35

Fifth Season Gardening’s own Pam Scott, will lead an introductory class focused on indoor propagation techniques. She will share how to properly take root cuttings from this year’s plants to winter over for next year’s bloom. You’ll leave with a tray of rooted cuttings of rosemary, scented geraniums, and tropical plants. Limited enrollment with pre-registration required.
Indoor Houseplant Care & Plant Swap! • $25

This workshop will cover the basics of houseplant care, orchid care, pest control, repotting, as well as overview of propagation. Attendees come prepared with questions and any tropical plants they want to swap. You will leave with a greater knowledge and appreciation for houseplant care, maintenance and growing. Bulb Planting Workshop • $40
Saturday, September 20, 11am – 12:30pm • Get Tickets
The workshop led by Fifth Season Gardening’s Pam Scott will guide attendees through the early, middle and late season spring bulb planting. Spring bulbs including: grape hyacinth, tete a tete daffodils, big daffodils and tulips will bloom in succession out of a single pot over a 4 to 6 week period. Great for any patio, front porch or balcony garden! Pam will lead attendees through the entire bulb planting process as well as offer care and maintenance tips. All attendees leave with flower bulbs, pot and soil. Limited enrollment with pre-registration required.
