Terrarium Building Workshop • $40

Saturday, February 7, 3pm – 5pm • SOLD OUT

Note: This class has been rescheduled from the original date of January 31 due to weather. 

This class will include a demonstration on terrarium tools and detailed instructions on how to create your own mini terrarium that will be self sustainable for many months. Attendees will leave with their own, self-created terrarium. Included in class fee is a mason jar, 2 terrarium plants, soil, charcoal, sand & moss. Additional items will be available for purchase. If you have your own container that you want to build your terrarium in, please bring it with you. Limited enrollment with pre-registration required.

Attendees will receive an additional 15% discount on all same-day purchases of terrarium tools, glassware, terrarium plants, fairy figurines and misters/watering tools.

Basics of Orchid Care & Maintenance • $60

This beginner-friendly class is perfect for those wishing to learn more about care and continued maintenance of orchids. You’ll also have a chance to get your hands dirty and pot up your own Phalaenopsis orchid. Orchid, pot, and planting medium are included with class fee. Limited enrollment with pre-registration required. Note: this class was originally scheduled for January 24, but has been rescheduled due to wintry weather. Tickets purchased for the January 24 class will be honored on February 7. 

Indoor Houseplants 101 • $35

If you haven’t been successful growing or caring for indoor plants, or simply want to brush up on your knowledge, this class is for you! The workshop will cover the basics of houseplant care, maintenance, pest control, repotting and propagation. When you leave, you’ll have a greater knowledge of and appreciation for houseplant care, plus you’ll receive a 4″ plant from in-stock plants! Limited enrollment with pre-registration required.

Spring Seed Starting • $35

Get a head start on your spring garden! Join us for a hands-on seed starting workshop where you will learn from some of the brightest horticulturists in our growing zone. You’ll learn everything you need to know to successfully grow your own plants from seed with your garden goals in mind. You’ll leave with your own seeded trays ready to nurture! Limited enrollment with pre-registration required.

Mushroom Log Workshop • $75

Saturday, March 14 • 2:00pm – 3:30pm • Buy Tickets

In this 90-minute workshop participants inoculate sustainably and locally sourced logs for gourmet mushrooms. Gourmet varietals are described, including identifying features, flavor profiles, nutrition, and tips for biannual and annual harvests. Class fee includes NC USDA certified professional instruction + materials: log, mushroom spawn, wax, and illustrated handout. Students leave with their own mushroom inoculated log! Option for making a second log is available for an additional $25. Limited enrollment with pre-registration required.
