Can mycelium save the world? Come learn the crucial role mushrooms play in natural ecosystems and in our cultivated gardens and landscapes. Mushroom enthusiast Rob Jones of Understory Farm (a Carrboro-based edible mushroom business) will lead a hands-on workshop where we will explore growing mushrooms in your garden and on various substrates and also inoculate logs with mushroom spawn for you to take home.
About the Instructor
A food activist and educator, Rob Jones is the owner of Understory Farm, a co-instigator of Crop Mob, and coordinator of Vimala’s Curryblossom Cafe’s sustainability efforts. He has degrees in Biology and Environmental Education and studied seed saving with pepper enthusiast Doug Jones.
