COVID-19 UPDATE

March 26, 2020 by fifthseason 17 Comments

Our stores are open; please check your local store for any temporary changes to operating hours.

If you do not feel comfortable coming into the store you can place an order for curbside pickup. CLICK HERE for the form to start this process.

You can also order from our online store to have items shipped to you.  Our  online store does not contain all of the items we sell in our physical stores.

If you are local to one of our locations, or if you have questions about products/projects you’re working on, we strongly recommend filling out our online form for your order. That way we can call you and discuss your order with you to get you what you need as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Thank you in advance for your understanding as we try to negotiate this rapidly-changing situation. It is inspiring to see how people are coming together (or maybe staying apart?) in order to meet this challenge!

Elbow bumps,
Your Fifth Season Crew

Is it ok to spread mushroom compost around Hellebores and ferns now to condition soil?

I’ve researched your tomato plants listed online. None appear to be determinate or suitable for growing in pots. Am I correct.

Yes, compost is ok to spread pretty much any time, but since this is the beginning of the growing season for many ferns, it’s a good time to hit them with some compost.

I can’t find your hours and your phone doesn’t seem to be working.

I’ve been looking for your locations. I now live in Wilmington NC 28405. Do you have a store nearby?
    Thank You,

Our closest location to you is in Raleigh, I’m afraid. Thanks for asking!

    Hi Ruth,
Our Carborro, Charlottesville, and Asheville stores do carry organically-grown herbs you can check our online plant lists for current availability (updated weekly). Sorry to be so delayed in responding, for some reason reader messages started getting trapped in our spam filter.

What time do you close weekdays?

It depends on the store location. You can check the Facebook page for the store you’re looking for or give a call. Some stores have been able to go back to normal hours, while some are still reduced, depending on staffing.

I can no longer find outdoor garden plants anywhere on your website–only gardening “products.” Have you stopped carrying plants for the winter season?

We have stopped carrying some plants at some locations. Your best bet is to call your local Fifth Season store and ask them what they have in stock.

    Cheers!
